Following the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq in the early 2000s, the US sought to improve its methods of warfare, gear, and arms for soldiers in the fight against terrorists. These needs ushered in a boom of technological advancements over the last twenty years. Drones and robot dogs may have seemed futuristic at one time, but they are now part of our everyday vocabulary.
In the first decade of the new millennium, a variety of rifles were introduced to cater to the needs of the type of warfare the military was involved in.
